A fantastic outdoor activity for all ages! It gives you a unique opportunity to see how the fruit is grown, pick the fruit and take your berries home to be eaten! We have a super variety of delicious homegrown fruits for pick your own during the summer months such as strawberries, gooseberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, whitecurrants, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, plums, etc!

Throughout the summer we will be posting regular updates on our Facebook and Instagram pages regarding what fruit is available and the quantity, so please follow us for the latest information. If you don’t have either platform, then please give us a ring on 01747 829072 before you visit us so we can let you know what is available to avoid disappointment. We do of course have a STRICT NO EATING POLICY while out on the farm picking fruit. We kindly ask that you respect the hard work that goes into growing and maintaining the fruit and the surroundings. If you do happen to eat while you are out picking, we ask that you are honest and pay the equivalent to what has been consumed.
Bring Your Own Containers
We really encourage to bring your own pots and containers to reduce the use of packaging where possible! You can bring anything from bowls to baskets, tupperware, bags, and beyond! When you arrive with your own containers, they will need to be weighed before you go out picking so that you don’t pay for the weight of the container as well as what you’ve picked. So please always go into the shop first to get your pots weighed and for information from our staff regarding picking fruit.

Varieties of Fruit & a Rough Guide on When They Start

Strawberries
Strawberries are our first fruit available for PYO. The season usually starts from the beginning to mid June, but depends hugely on the weather.
We have raised beds for PYO strawberries as well as low level beds, so there is an option for people who don't want to bend!

Rhubarb
It starts to grow from early March through until late May, then it will regrow from July - August. Rhubarb crowns are available for sale from November till February.

Gooseberries
Our green gooseberries usually come into season in June through until July/August (weather depending).
We also grow DESSERT gooseberries which crop around July through until September.

Blackcurrants
We have two crops of blackcurrants, with one usually starting late June, and the other in late July (weather depending).
Blackcurrants make great jam or jelly!

Tayberries
Tayberries are a cross between a blackberry and a raspberry! They have a great tangy taste and make super jam.
Tayberries normally fruit in late June (weather depending of course).

Redcurrants
Redcurrants are like little red pearls! They usually fruit around July, but it just depends on the weather and whether the birds find them first!
Redcurrant jelly is a winner!

Raspberries
Raspberries were fantastic last year, and started in the last couple of weeks of June because of all the glorious sunshine we had. So it could be June/ July when they fruit this year, and they usually carry on until early August (just depends on the weather).
We have a few lines of red raspberries in pots, as well as a small section of yellow raspberries which usually fruit in mid August.

Blackberries
Blackberries are the perfect berry for a crumble! We have two lines and two varieties which usually fruit in July and continue until August, but it just depends on the weather!

Blueberries
We have two lines of blueberry pots at the bottom of the farm, which usually fruit around August.
We find them very therapeutic to pick!
